Aphid is a cellphone-sized magnet mount active beacon GPS tracking tag used by U.S. law enforcement. Both recoverable and rechargeable, Aphid is designed to work with open source and third-party operating systems such as Intrepid Networks’ RESPONSE product line. Aphid reports the location to a user’s handset or laptop in near real time using modern cellular network infrastructure. This low-cost beacon is rugged and watertight, and is interoperable with other reporting systems such as ATAK, Whirl Wind or RAPTOR-X. Options include SATCOM exfil.
